COVID RESPONSE PLAN

At Indy Child Therapist, we want to do our part to help clients and employees stay healthy. While we have a robust COVID-19 Response and Prevention Plan available upon request, below are the highlights you as a client will need to know and follow if you have an in-office session:

Office Building

  • We do not own or have control over the building and as such, encourage you to use good hygiene and safety precautions when entering or exiting the building, including wearing a mask when entering/exiting the building.

Cleaning

  • Employees will clean and disinfect surfaces frequently touched. This includes but is not limited to: door handles, desks, light switches, etc

Waiting Room

  • Waiting room will be rearranged as possible to maximize distance between seating.
  • Client(s) will sit as far away from others in the waiting room as possible. Client(s) will not move waiting room furniture.
  • Client(s) will wait in their car or outside until their appointment time. We will not admit anyone into the office more than 5 minutes before their appointment time.
  • Office doors will remain locked to entry and an employee will be responsible to admit clients or guests into the office space.
  • The client(s) and their legal guardian or person transporting them to session are the only people who will be admitted into the waiting area.
  • Adult accompanying minor clients are required to stay in the waiting room while their minor child is in session or may wait in their car but must be immediately accessible by phone in case they are needed.
  • Masks are required to be worn in the waiting room at all times. We have limited supplies of masks available upon request, please bring your own if you have it. If you do not have a mask or do not want to wear one, you must stay in your car and will not be permitted to wait in the waiting room.

Therapy Room

  • We will position the therapist and client as to create the maximum amount of distance between them.
  • Whenever we use a toy, game, or other item in the office, we will sanitize it before we use it again or allow a client to use it.
  • Hand Sanitizer is available in every office for client(s) and employees.

Clients**

  • Clients will continue to do teletherapy when possible. While we love to meet in person, it is safest to continue with teletherapy.
  • Therapists will determine which clients clinically require in-person vs telehealth services. We will directly coordinate this with each individual client.
  • Clients will stay home if they are sick, think they might be sick, or have been exposed to someone they know has been sick.
  • Clients will over coughs and sneezes with elbow or a tissue. Wash/Sanitize hands after.
  • Before session, clients will wash hands for 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer
  • Clients will avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth and wash or sanitize your hands if they do
  • Clients are welcome to wear masks in the therapy office if they wish, but we will not require it.
  • Clients will minimize their exposure to COVID and will notify office staff or therapist immediately if they think they have been exposed to COVID even if they realize this after the session is over.
  • Clients will return to telehealth appointments, even temporarily, if they have COVID or have possibly been exposed to COVID.
  • Client(s) will maintain social distance of 6 feet when possible and there will be no physical contact with employees or staff, including minor clients.
  • Clients who are at high risk for infection (elderly or with medical conditions) or exposure (medical personnel) will remain at doing teletherapy appointments.
  • Accompanying adult is responsible to ensure minor clients and/or any children accompanying them follow all of these guidelines.

** Reference to Client(s) in all instances also refers to the parent, legal guardian, caregiver, or person transporting minor clients to therapy appointments and setting up the appointment for the minor client.
