Dana Jones, MSW, LCSW

About Me

Hi! I’m Dana, a licensed clinical social worker specializing in providing therapy for teens.
I would describe myself as engaging, laid back, and fun! I love to laugh as it is one of my favorite ways to connect with others and create a positive atmosphere.  I love being around my family and friends either hiking, binging a reality show, or eating some yummy food together!

I strive to create a space that is not only safe but also nurturing and non- judgmental. Therapy is a vulnerable process so I make it a priority to make sure clients feel comfortable and supported throughout our sessions together. I love to integrate fun and creative activities during sessions that match the client’s passions and interests!

AGES SEEN

Dana enjoys working with ages 12-18.

Dana will work with all ages but enjoys providing therapy to teens the most because they are able to have very serious conversations, but still laugh and make therapy fun. She also enjoys getting to see the increase that therapy can have in teens’ self esteem, communication, and self awareness.  Dana hopes that through rapport building she can create a space where kids can express their emotions in a healthy way and not feel judged.

PHILOSOPHY

Dana sees herself and therapy as an extra support for teens as an extra layer of support, providing encouragement and guidance during life’s challenges. She understands that building trust in the therapeutic process takes time, and that’s completely OK! Her approach is patient, compassionate, and tailored to each teen’s unique needs.

Dana believes that lasting progress happens when the whole family is involved. Parents play a crucial role in their child’s therapeutic journey, and she encourages open communication, new techniques, and meaningful conversations to create real change.

Dana helps kids and families reach lasting changes by allowing everyone to have a space to speak freely and not feel judged or silenced. She also works with a client/family to find a tool or technique that is personalized and works best for their lifestyle. Dana wants to find long term solutions that they can continue to use when they are out of therapy.

Education & Experience

Dana is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). She received both her Bachelors and Masters of Social Work from Indiana State University. She also has a minor in psychology. Throughout her schooling, her child welfare class had the most resounding effect. Dana was able to see the impact that an environment can have on the rest of an individual’s life. She learned to see how every interaction, every family member, and every event can have an impact on an individual.
