Sydney Eggers, MSW, LSW

About Me

In her free time, Sydney enjoys unwinding by taking her two German Shepherds to the dog park or relaxing on the couch with her boyfriend, catching up on her favorite reality TV shows. She’s also a proud Starbucks enthusiast, with her go-to order being an iced coffee with three pumps of sugar-free vanilla and cream—a little boost for all her ‘adulting’ adventures!

Sydney’s journey into social work began with her first job at an Autism center, where she discovered her passion for working with kids and supporting families. This experience, combined with her Bachelor’s in Special Education, gave her a strong foundation for understanding the unique needs of her clients. While she loved her work in education, she quickly realized that her true calling was working 1:1 with children and teens

AGES SEEN

Sydney speacializes in working with children and teens ages 6-18 and enjoys the unique qualities that each age group brings to therapy. With younger kids, she appreciates their honesty and how openly they share their feelings, making every session authentic and insightful. With teens, she values the opportunity to be a positive support person they trust to provide meaningful feedback. And let’s face it, teens often keep things interesting with their unique perspectives and humor!

Sydney’s true passion lies in creating strong, trusting relationships with her clients. She believes that when kids feel heard and understood, they’re better equipped to overcome emotional and behavioral challenges. Sydney has a special focus on working with children and teens with ADHD and Autism. She takes a strengths-based approach, helping them build emotional resilience, develop coping strategies, and thrive in their unique way.

PHILOSOPHY

Sydney’s goal is to create a safe and supportive space for her clients and their families. She believes that building strong, trusting relationships is at the heart of effective therapy. By fostering meaningful connections with children and teens, Sydney creates a space to allow children and teens to feel comfortable, open, and empowered to grow.

Sydney values collaboration with parents, recognizing the unique insight and essential role families play in their child’s mental health. She works to improve communication, build understanding, and develop strategies to navigate challenges effectively.

By equipping families with practical tools for resolving conflicts and fostering connection, Sydney aims to create lasting change that benefits the entire family both in and beyond the therapy room.

Q & A TIME

What is a quote or saying that has meaning to you personally?

What is meant for you will find you. Always – this saying is important to me because in life opportunities, relationships, experiences are meant to come into your life for a reason. It gives a sense of acceptance and patience in life that what is happening will grow you or show you a different path. Take signs in life for what they are and use them to your advantage.

How do parent's describe you?

Parents often describe Sydney as empathetic, caring, and truly invested in her clients’ success. She brings warmth, compassion, and a deep commitment to creating a positive impact in the lives of the children and families she works with.

If you had a superpower that could help you in therapy, what would it be?

As much as I would like to say being a mind reader, what I would really want is to have a healing touch. I would love to be able to radiate or produce a healing potion that would connect to someone’s soul and allow them to release whatever negative energy is in them and let it out and be free of it!

Education & Experience

Sydney received her Bachelor of Science in Special Education and then her Master of Social Work. Her favorite class in college was abnormal psychology. She loved learning about the different diagnoses and the therapeutic techniques and approaches that worked best for them. This class led to her becoming more interested in social work and ultimately going this direction with her career. Her long term goals are to finish her supervision hours for her LCSW and continue to work with children and teens. She hopes to expand on trainings and receive more certifications to expand her knowledge with therapy approaches!
