Beyond Behavior: A Parent Skills Group
Beyond Behavior is an 8-week parent skills group designed for caregivers who want to better understand their child’s challenging behaviors and feel more confident responding to them.
Parents will learn about anger and the emotions underneath it, the ABCs and functions of behavior, parent and child triggers, co-regulation, and practical coping skills. The group will help parents identify what may be driving their child’s behavior and how their own responses can impact behavioral patterns.
Parents will then be guided through implementing 1-2-3 Magic, a structured discipline approach designed to decrease yelling, arguing, and power struggles while increasing consistency and confidence for both parents and children.
